Enable Block Builder Shortcuts
Block Builder keyboard shortcuts are configurable so editing commands do not interfere with your browser or operating-system habits. Open Settings → Advanced → Keyboard shortcuts and enable only the shortcuts you want to use.

On macOS, use Command as the primary modifier. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl. Most shortcuts act on the question or block that currently has focus.
Add And Change Survey Content
- Command/Ctrl+N: Add a question to the focused block. Domandata uses the first question type in your primary question-type list. This works while typing in a title or answer option.
- Command/Ctrl+Shift+N: Add a content block.
- Backslash (): Open the searchable Question Type menu for the focused question. Type a question-type name to filter the menu.
- Alt+Enter: While editing Multiple Choice or Dropdown options, append a text-enabled Other option.

You can also type Other [specify] directly in an option field. See Add and Edit Answer Options for write-in options, multiline paste, and option-row editing.
Duplicate And Reorder Questions
- Command/Ctrl+D: Duplicate the focused question and insert the copy directly below it.
- Command/Ctrl+Up Arrow: Move the focused root question up within its block.
- Command/Ctrl+Down Arrow: Move the focused root question down within its block.
Block Builder: Focus A Question
The move shortcuts do not apply to follow-up questions. Reorder follow-ups within their parent question instead.
Delete A Focused Question
When enabled, Backspace sends the focused question to trash. The shortcut only runs when no text field has focus, so Backspace continues to edit text normally inside titles and option fields.

This is a destructive single-key shortcut and is disabled by default. Restore an accidentally deleted question from the survey trash; see Version History, Trash, and Recovery.
Use Answer Suggestions
- Tab: Accept the visible ghost-text suggestion.
- Escape: Dismiss the current suggestion.
- “+ text field”: When this marker appears beside a suggestion, accepting it creates a text-enabled Other option.
Block Builder: Suggested Answer Options
Ghost-text suggestions depend on the Auto-suggest preference. Keyboard-shortcut toggles do not control Tab and Escape inside a visible suggestion.
