Why Connect OSF
The Open Science Framework integration helps connect a Domandata survey to the study record you share for transparency, preregistration, and reproducibility. Use it when your project needs an OSF project link, preregistration URL, replication package, amendment log, or verification certificate.
Set up OSF before fielding if the study protocol requires preregistration. You can still push documentation later, but the clearest record starts before the public survey link is live.
Deploy: OSF and Publishing
Connect Your OSF Account
Step 1: Create an OSF token. In OSF, create a personal access token with the permissions your project requires.
Step 2: Open Settings. In Domandata, go to Settings and find OSF Integration.
Step 2: Open Settings
Step 3: Paste the token. Store the token only in the OSF Integration section. Do not paste it into survey text, code blocks, or shared notes.
Step 4: Connect OSF. Confirm the connection before returning to the survey editor.
Step 5: Link the survey to a project. In Deploy, choose an existing OSF project or create one for the study.
Step 5: Link From Deploy
Preregister And Lock The Study Record
Use the preregistration URL to connect the survey to the protocol or preregistration record. Before locking, confirm that the survey title, Flow, condition arms, quotas, and export variables match the preregistered design.
- Preregistration URL: paste the final OSF preregistration link or project reference your team will cite.
- Lock and fingerprint: lock only after the survey version is ready to serve as the reference design.
- Verification: use verification details to document which survey state was associated with the open-science record.
- Amendments: record meaningful changes after preregistration, especially wording, routing, condition, quota, or measurement changes.
Flow: Check The Registered Design
Push A Replication Package
The replication package bundles the survey instrument and study documentation so collaborators, reviewers, or future analysts can understand what was collected. Push it from Export after the instrument, Flow, variables, and documentation are ready.
- Open Export. Review the response export and file export areas before pushing documentation.
- Review included files. Confirm the package includes the instrument, codebook, Flow diagram, security or review files, and any generated documentation you intend to share.
- Push to OSF. Choose the linked project and push the package.
- Issue the certificate if needed. Use a verification certificate when your workflow needs a durable record of what was pushed and when.
