How Do I Choose Where My Slots and Storage Go?
Your plan's Free-member slots and storage belong to you, not to a workspace. Open Settings → Upgrade → Manage Benefits to see which workspaces they're on and move them.
- Free-member slots. Pro and Beta Tester plans include 3. Each slot lets one Free-plan person join a shared workspace, and a workspace can hold as many Free-plan members as its members have placed slots there. Standard and Pro members never need a slot. Lab workspaces use paid seats instead, and classrooms use a class code.
- Storage. Your plan's storage (2 GB on Free, 30 GB on Standard, 100 GB on Pro and Beta Tester), plus any storage packs you buy, is yours to split across shared workspaces in 5 GB steps. A shared workspace's limit is the storage its members placed there. Your personal workspace holds whatever you haven't placed anywhere else.
- Creating a workspace takes 5 GB. When you create a shared workspace, 5 GB of your storage moves to it, and it keeps at least that much of yours while you're a member. If you don't have 5 GB free, take storage off another workspace or free up space in your personal workspace first.
Apply Automatically
Slots and storage each have an Apply automatically switch, and both are on to start. While it's on, Domandata only places your benefits on workspaces you lead, sized to what each needs:
- Slots go where Free-plan members are, as many as each workspace needs. When a Free-plan person joins a workspace that's out of slots, one of your open slots moves there on the spot.
- Storage covers what each workspace uses, plus room up to the next 5 GB step. When a workspace runs out, Domandata tops it up from storage you aren't using before blocking an upload.
Turn the switch off to place them yourself with the plus and minus buttons. Your current placements stay where they are when you switch.
You can't move a benefit that's in use. A slot holding a Free-plan member stays until a workspace leader removes someone. Storage a workspace's files already fill stays until space is freed there.
When Your Plan Changes
If you leave a workspace, the slots and storage you placed there come back to you. If your plan lapses, slots you placed stop counting until you resubscribe. Storage you placed stops counting if it adds up to more than your new total, until you take some off. Either way, Free-plan members and files already in a workspace stay; it just can't take new Free-plan members or uploads until there's room again.
Storage packs are 5 GB each, billed monthly. Buy them at the bottom of Manage Benefits. Packs bought for a workspace before benefits became placeable stay with that workspace.
