Before You Start
This guide walks you through running your Domandata survey with Rep Data. Rep Data sets things up project by project, so you'll use the details your Rep Data team sends you.
You'll need:
- The ID name and links your Rep Data team sent you, including the "security fail" link
Set Up Rep Data
Step 1: In Domandata, go to the Deploy tab and open Recruitment. Click Rep Data.
Step 1: Open Recruitment
- Step 2: Fill in the details.
- The name Rep Data uses for each person's ID. We fill in
RDUD, but check it with them. - The placeholder Rep Data swaps for each person's ID. Leave it blank if you weren't given one.
- The links Rep Data gave you for each way the survey can end. Use the "security fail" link for failed attention checks. Only the link for people who finish is required. Wherever a link needs the person's ID, type
{{RDUD}}.

Step 3: Click Connect Rep Data. Domandata sets everything up so people go back to Rep Data when they finish.
Step 4: Copy your study link. Click Copy Link next to Share the study link.
Step 5: Send the link to your Rep Data team. Ask them to check that the ID name and links match your project.
Step 6: Tell Domandata who doesn't qualify. Under Send non-qualifiers back, Domandata usually spots your screening question, like "Are you 18 or older?" Click Yes, Route It to use it, or Choose Answers to pick the question yourself. If you've set up attention checks in your quality rules, click Use My Attention Checks too. Rep Data counts these people as a security fail.
Step 7: Publish your survey. Click Publish at the top of the Deploy tab. If it's already live, click Push Changes instead.
Step 8: Try it yourself. Under Try it yourself, click Open Test Link and take the survey once for each way it can end. Nothing is sent to Rep Data. You'll just see where a real participant would go.
Step 8: Try It Yourself
Step 9: Delete your test runs. Click Delete Before Launch at the top of the Deploy tab.
- Step 10: Ask Rep Data to launch your project.
What Happens When Someone Finishes
- People who finish go back to Rep Data using your "complete" link.
- People who don't qualify go to your terminate link, or see a thank-you message if you didn't add one.
- People who arrive after their group is full go to your over-quota link.
- People who fail an attention check go to your security-fail link.
Your exported data shows how each person finished, along with their Rep Data ID so you can match them up in Rep Data.
If Something Isn't Working
- People aren't going back to Rep Data. The ID name in one of your links probably doesn't match the one Rep Data uses. Names have to match exactly, including capital letters. Fix it with Edit Setup.
Technical Details
You won't need these to get set up, but Rep Data support may ask for them.
- Wherever a link contains
{{RDUD}}(or your own ID name), Domandata swaps in each person's ID. - If you don't add an over-quota or security-fail link, those people go to your terminate link instead.
- Exports include a column for the ID.
