YouGov Panel Integration

This guide walks you through running your Domandata survey with a YouGov panel. YouGov sets things up project by project, so you'll use the details your YouGov project manager sends you.

You'll need:

• The ID name and links your YouGov project manager sent you

1. Step 1: In Domandata, go to the Deploy tab and open Recruitment. Click YouGov.

2. Step 2: Fill in the details.
   • The name YouGov uses for each person's ID. We fill in pid, but check it with them.
   • The placeholder YouGov swaps for each person's ID. Leave it blank if you weren't given one.
   • The links YouGov gave you for each way the survey can end. Only the link for people who finish is required. Wherever a link needs the person's ID, type {{pid}}.

3. Step 3: Click Connect YouGov. Domandata sets everything up so people go back to YouGov when they finish.

4. Step 4: Copy your study link. Click Copy Link next to Share the study link.

5. Step 5: Send the link to your YouGov project manager. Ask them to check that the ID name and links match your project.

6. Step 6: Tell Domandata who doesn't qualify. Under Send non-qualifiers back, Domandata usually spots your screening question, like "Are you 18 or older?" Click Yes, Route It to use it, or Choose Answers to pick the question yourself.

7. Step 7: Publish your survey. Click Publish at the top of the Deploy tab. If it's already live, click Push Changes instead.

8. Step 8: Try it yourself. Under Try it yourself, click Open Test Link and take the survey once for each way it can end. Nothing is sent to YouGov. You'll just see where a real participant would go.

9. Step 9: Delete your test runs. Click Delete Before Launch at the top of the Deploy tab.

10. Step 10: Ask YouGov to launch your project.

• People who finish go back to YouGov using your "complete" link.
• People who don't qualify go to your screen-out link, or see a thank-you message if you didn't add one.
• People who arrive after their group is full, or fail an attention check, go to their own links if you added them, or else to your screen-out link.

Your exported data shows how each person finished, along with their YouGov ID so you can match them up in YouGov.

• People aren't going back to YouGov. The ID name in one of your links probably doesn't match the one YouGov uses. Names have to match exactly, including capital letters. Fix it with Edit Setup.

You won't need these to get set up, but YouGov support may ask for them.

• Wherever a link contains {{pid}} (or your own ID name), Domandata swaps in each person's ID.
• Exports include a column for the ID.
