What Are Personal Links
Personal links give each participant a unique, token-based survey URL. When a participant clicks their link and submits, the system records which recipient responded — giving you a live completion picture without any manual spreadsheet tracking.
Personal links are a Beta feature available in the Deploy tab. Every participant receives a distinct link; the link carries no personally identifiable information, only an encrypted token.

Generate Personal Links
Step 1: Enable personal links. In Deploy, toggle on Require personal links (published URL) under the Personal links panel. The public survey URL will require a valid token — unauthenticated visits are blocked.

Step 2: Set the ID column name. This label becomes the column header in your exported data. Rename it to match your study's variable convention (e.g., participant_id or wave1_token).

Step 3: Publish the survey. Publish or push the current draft before generating invitations. The personal links system reads from the published snapshot.

Step 4: Upload your contact list. Upload a CSV with one row per participant. Select the column containing email addresses or phone numbers, and optionally a name column for personalized messages using the

Step 5: Choose delivery and send. Download a CSV with a SurveyLink column appended, or send directly via email (Resend) or SMS (Twilio). Each participant receives a unique link. You can run multiple batches against the same survey at any time.

Track Completion
After creating a batch, the Personal links panel shows a live completion count and progress bar for each batch. You can see at a glance how many participants have responded and how many are still pending — no spreadsheet required.
- Completion count: each batch card shows N/Total completed (X%) and N pending.
- All responded: once every participant in a batch has submitted, the card shows all responded.
- Multiple batches: if you upload additional contact lists to the same survey, each upload appears as a separate batch card with its own progress.

Download Pending Links
For any batch with non-responders, click Download N pending to get a CSV of only the participants who have not yet submitted, with their original survey links. Their tokens are unchanged — if they complete the survey after receiving this file, their response is linked to the same participant record.
Use this when you want to forward the list to a colleague, import it into a separate email platform, or file it for your records.

Send Reminders
Click Send reminder to N non-responders… under any batch to open the reminder form. Reminders reuse each participant's existing token — their link and identity stay consistent across the original invitation and all reminders.
Choose email or SMS. The form pre-selects the delivery method that matches the contact type in the batch. Switch if needed.
Add credentials and compose. Provide your Resend API key or Twilio credentials, or select a saved credential. Customize the reminder body using
[name]and[link]placeholders.Send. Click Send reminder to N non-responders. Participants who have already completed are automatically excluded — only those with unused tokens receive the reminder.

Export and Analysis Notes
In your exported data, each response includes the token value in the ID column you named. Use this column to join survey responses back to your original contact list for analysis.
- Single-use links: when a batch uses single-use links, each token can only be submitted once. A second attempt shows a link-already-used message to the respondent.
- Privacy: contact information in batches is encrypted at rest. Survey URLs contain only the token, not the participant's email or phone number.
- Longitudinal studies: for multi-wave studies, upload a new contact list to each wave's survey separately. Export the ID column from each wave and join on your master participant list; see Longitudinal and Panel Surveys for wave design guidance.
