SONA Systems Integration for Course Credit

This guide walks you through running your Domandata survey through SONA, so students get course credit automatically when they finish.

You'll need:

• A SONA study set up as an online study
• The completion link shown on your study's page in SONA

1. Step 1: In SONA, copy your study's completion link. You'll find it on your study's page.

2. Step 2: In Domandata, go to the Deploy tab and open Recruitment. Click SONA Systems.

   • Paste the completion link into any of the boxes. Domandata fills in the rest.

4. Step 4: Click Connect SONA Systems. Domandata sets everything up so people go back to SONA Systems when they finish.

5. Step 5: Copy your study link. Click Copy Link next to Share the study link.

6. Step 6: In SONA, paste the link as your study's web address.

7. Step 7: Tell Domandata who doesn't qualify. Under Send non-qualifiers back, Domandata usually spots your screening question, like "Are you 18 or older?" Click Yes, Route It to use it, or Choose Answers to pick the question yourself.

8. Step 8: Publish your survey. Click Publish at the top of the Deploy tab. If it's already live, click Push Changes instead.

9. Step 9: Try it yourself. Under Try it yourself, click Open Test Link and take the survey once for each way it can end. Nothing is sent to SONA Systems. You'll just see where a real participant would go.

10. Step 10: Delete your test runs. Click Delete Before Launch at the top of the Deploy tab.

11. Step 11: In SONA, make your study visible to students.

• Students who finish get their credit automatically.
• Students who don't qualify are told they won't receive credit. This also happens if their group is already full.

Your exported data shows how each person finished, along with their anonymous SONA code so you can match them up in SONA Systems.

• Students aren't getting credit. Check that the completion link you pasted came from this study, then try the test link again.
• Your data has no SONA codes. Copy the link again (step 5) and paste it into SONA.

You won't need these to get set up, but SONA Systems support may ask for them.

• Your study link ends in id=%SURVEY_CODE%.
• Students who finish are sent to your SONA site's webstudy_credit.aspx page with your experiment ID, credit token, and survey_code={{id}}.
• Exports include an id column with each student's anonymous code.
